how many credit cards is too many ??
How many credit cards is too many? Well, one if you’re not careful.
Sure, they can be great and offer interest free purchases if you pay off the balance in full before the due day.
But be honest with yourself, are you really going to do that?
Still, used responsibly a credit card (or, maybe, two) in your wallet can be a great asset.
Washing machine broken down and it’s still two weeks to pay day? Put it on the card.
Indeed, for some people credit can be a lifeline, allowing them to buy the everyday appliances many take for granted.
But do you really need that expensive leather jacket, all-in holiday or any other special treat’? Probably not, so put that card away and keep your finances healthy.
The other temptation comes with the 0% on balance transfer” style offers. These are great, but the cards soon pile up.
Again, you might tell yourself that once you’ve cleared the balance from an old card, you’ll never touch it again. But they’re still there, as a temptation.
Make sure when you start a new card, you cancel the old one.
Credit cards, like most things in life are great if you use them responsibly. But if you think you might not be able to trust yourself with a whopping credit limit, then stick to having none.
